Nicholas Kirkwood
After earning his fashion stripes studying at Central Saint Martins and later working for milliner Philip Treacy, Nicholas Kirkwood has become one of the most respected names in footwear. After creating catwalk shoes for Ghost and John Rocha to fund his own collection, the London-based designer launched his eponymous line in 2005. His innovative use of fabrics such as rubberised suede, python and laser-cut leather and sculptured, architectural designs instantly caught the attention of celebrity fans Grace Jones, Isabella Blow and Daphne Guinness, and have helped Kirkwood’s shoes to secure cult appeal over the last decade. In September 2013 Kirkwood announced his long-term partnership with LVMH: the biggest luxury goods conglomerate in the world.
